Laurence Shore moved to BonelliErede-Milan from New York in September 2017, and is the co-head of the firm’s international arbitration practice.  He has been the lead advocate in many international arbitration cases involving a wide range of industry sectors, such as energy, construction, telecommunications, mining, healthcare, intellectual property, and finance. Laurence also sits as an arbitrator (ICC, LCIA, ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICDR, Cairo Regional Centre of International Commercial Arbitration). Previously, he practiced law in New York City, Washington, D.C., and London. He was a partner at the Herbert Smith and Gibson Dunn law firms; before moving to Milan he headed the public international law practice at Herbert Smith Freehills. Laurence is a co-author of International Investment Arbitration: Substantive Principles (OUP, second edition, 2017), a leading text on treaty arbitration.  He is currently a member of the LCIA’s North American Users’ Council and the Institute for Transnational Arbitration’s Executive Committee.
